Meditation and Mindfulness
If you really want to understand mindfulness, here’s what you do. Get all of your mindfulness books together – sit on them and meditate
Because meditation will give you a direct experience of what books can only point you to.
All meditation is mindfulness training, if meditation has an aim (I’m not sure it has) it is to help you achieve a state of mindfulness, to be fully awake with a mind free of thought and to bring that state of meditation into every aspect of your life. It’s a state of mind that in the east is called Satori
School of Meditation and Attention Training
Steve’s fascination with meditation and awakening has taken him a 10-year journey of exploration and discovery. He’s lived in Ashrams in India and studied the teachings of masters from many different meditation traditions
He will explore with you how the quality of your attention directly dictates the quality of your state of being, with a variety of short, fun and simple guided attention training and mindful state-inducing experiences.
We all prefer different forms of meditation – one is not better than the other as they all ultimately take you to the same place. At Steve’s school of meditation and attention training you’ll get to experience many different forms so you can choose a practice that suits you.
Depending on the flow of the moment and participants we will enjoy experiencing several of the following
Ānāpānasati (mindfulness of the breath)
Body scan
- Whole body and spine breathing
Anti-anxiety hand tracing breathwork
Ujjayi ocean/psychic breath
Experiencing Pratyahara (inner body and energy body awareness
