Why Mindfulness ?

People come to mindfulness for many different reasons. Many people come to mindfulness for stress and anxiety, some because they are weighed down with heavy depression. or lost in the grip of addiction. Sometimes a life crisis, break-up, bereavement or some life-shattering news will do it.  Sometimes it’s a nagging sense of emptiness a feeling that something is missing and no matter how comfortable you are materially, you crave for something but you don’t know what it is.

Why Mindfulness? The Now Project

Mindfulness has become really popular lately, and psychologists and therapists are at last waking up to the life-changing possibilities that mindfulness offers. There are literally thousands of scientific studies now demonstrating how important mindfulness is for good mental and physical health. Mindfulness is being recommended for stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, pain management and many other issues, and it’s great for all those things, but, and in truth, psychologists are only scratching the surface.

Mindfulness isn’t about illness, mindfulness is the cultivation of wellness. It’s about how to be happy and at peace, how to be fulfilled with life and ultimately finding meaning and a profound depth to yourself and the world that can only be glimpsed through the stillness of your silent mind.
